Question of the Day for ChatGPT — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Question of the Day plugin for ChatGPT (the “plugin”), published by HUGO FM GAMES (hugo.fm) as part of Shout Out Games, and its server at qotd.shoutoutgames.com.

Signing in

The plugin uses your Shout Out Games account. When you first play, ChatGPT opens Shout Out Games’ own sign-in page; we receive a token that identifies your account, never your password. You can revoke the link at any time from ChatGPT’s connected apps settings.

What we collect

From your Shout Out Games account we read your display name, whether the account is in good standing and your day streak, and we record that you used today’s daily try so the Shout Out Games app knows too. When you play, ChatGPT sends our server the guesses you type on the game board or say in the chat, so they can be checked against the day’s answers.

For each day you play, the server keeps a record against your account id: when your run started and finished, the answers you found, how many guesses you made and whether you played on the board or by chat. Daily runs are deleted after 90 days. Your Question of the Day streaks are kept for as long as you keep playing. Your Shout Out Games display name appears on the leaderboards together with your times and streaks.

Our server logs record each request’s status and duration for reliability. Like any web server, our hosting may also keep standard access logs (including IP address) for security, which are kept for a limited period.

What we do not do

The plugin never accesses your microphone or camera, does not track you across sites, does not use advertising or analytics cookies, does not sell or share your information, and does not sell products or process payments.

Third parties

The day’s challenge and your account details come from Shout Out Games’ own servers (shoutoutgames.com), under the HUGO.FM privacy policy. Country flags on the board are loaded by your browser from flagcdn.com, which receives standard request information needed to deliver the images. Your conversation with ChatGPT is handled by OpenAI under its own privacy policy.

Children

The plugin is family entertainment and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
